As part of the celebration for the tenth anniversary of Apple Music, Apple is launching a new 15,000-square-foot studio for musicians in Los Angeles. Since its debut on June 30, 2015, Apple Music has evolved significantly, adding features like Apple Music Classical and Spatial Audio, along with establishing a studio in Paris. The new facility in Los Angeles is designed as a global hub for artists, featuring two radio studios equipped with Spatial Audio technology, a 4,000-square-foot soundstage for live events and multi-camera shoots, a mixing room, and various support facilities. These include a photo and social media lab, an editing room, a green room for hospitality, and isolation booths for podcasters, songwriters, and interviewees.
Connecting these spaces are two corridors that showcase artwork celebrating moments from Apple Music’s first decade. Rachel Newman, co-head of Apple Music, emphasized the role of Apple Music Radio as a platform for storytelling and artistry, expressing excitement about the new studio’s potential for enabling artists to create and share their visions. Alongside the Los Angeles studio, Apple Music has established a network of creative hubs located in cities like New York, Berlin, and Nashville, with further expansions planned. This reflects a broader vision initiated with the launch of Beats 1, the first live global radio station tailored for a digital audience.
Zane Lowe, a prominent figure at Apple Music, reiterated the platform’s commitment to putting music first and fostering authentic connections between artists and fans. While the exact location of the new studio in Los Angeles is not disclosed, it continues Apple’s investment in cutting-edge facilities that support the music community.
