Steps to Transfer PDF eBooks from Messages to Apple Books on Your Device

Apple simplifies the process of transferring PDFs and eBooks from Messages to the Books app, enabling users to continue reading seamlessly across devices. Here’s a guide on how to do this on iPad, iPhone, and Mac. For those who enjoy reading on their iPhones, the Apple Books app is a popular choice.

It allows you to purchase eBooks and sync them across multiple devices, making it easy to switch from one device to another while reading. If you receive an eBook or PDF through Messages, transferring that file to your Books app is straightforward, though the steps differ slightly depending on the device. Before you begin, ensure that Apple Books is installed on your device.

You can download it for free from the App Store. To import an ePub or PDF into Books on an iPhone or iPad, follow these steps:

1. Open Messages and tap the message containing the file you want to import.

2. Tap the file to open it in a new window. 3.

Tap the Share button located in the lower left corner. 4. Scroll to find and tap the Books icon in the second bar.

Your file will then be added to your Books library and will sync across all Apple devices, provided you have iCloud sync enabled. If you prefer importing files directly to a Mac, here’s how:

1. Open Messages and click the message with the file.

2. Double-click the file you want to import. 3.

Click the Share button in the top-right corner. 4. Select “Save to Books.”

If you don’t see the “Save to Books” option, you can easily enable it. Click on Edit Extensions in the Share menu, toggle on “Save to Books,” and then click Done before returning to save the file. With these steps, you’ll be able to enjoy your PDFs and eBooks in the Books app with ease.
